Today, I overheard one of my Boston-native coworkers correcting her husband on the phone. She was saying, "Whaaat? No, it's 'erbs. You don't pronounce the 'h'! You sound stupid if you pronounce the 'h'!"
And all I could think was, "I wonder if I should point out with or without the 'h', you sound stupid if you say it in a Jersey accent. Because then the word is 'OIBS!"
